Struggling to save is common to many people.
It has been for me for years.
When I was a little girl it was no problem.
I would save my money, candy (nowlaters, jolly rancher sticks reese cup, soda (sprite) , and honey buns.
I never knew when I would get anymore so I didn't rush to spend or eat my goodies all at once.
As an adult I got away from that idea that I may not get anymore.
I had cash coming in all the time so it didn't matter.
I got away from saving.
Now saving is a struggle.
It seems that there is never enough money to save when you get paid or receive retirement check.
Saving money has become apart of my budget each month.
As I have moved to saving money there always seems to be something to come up to detract from me saving.
I struggle to save with each paycheck.
What I found is that instead of not saving at all I adjust to my situation and still put something in my savings account.
This is not my life happens fund or my piggy bank.
My actual savings account.
The account that I have for the future.
No matter what happens each week.
Even if its $5 I'm putting it away.
I saved something. The next week I try to do better.
One of the things that I do to make that happen is to transfer whatever is left after the bills are paid.
I don't always want to save.
I know it's not easy to save.
At the end of the day I remind myself that I may get old one day.
I want to have money in the bank collecting interest.
If I ever need it it's there.
With your next paycheck put something in your savings account.
$5 is a start. It does not mean you will be stuck with that amount.
Start somewhere. You will be glad that you did.
Those $5 add up.
Are you struggling to save???
