There are a lot of myths to getting a high credit score.
This article points to a few things that people with a high score do on a regular basis. These are things that you can do everyday to help improve your credit score.
Remember that it will take time to increase your credit score. There is no over night fix. The people with 800 scores have worked to maintain their score.
The number one thing to pay attention to is your pay history. The longer that you pay things on time the better your credit score becomes.
There are times in life were things happen that are out of your control. You may lose your job. You may divorce or have a break up. You may have a loved one pass away.
Then there are times that you don't manage your money wisely. You spend without regard to how you are going to pay your debt off.
Whatever the case may be. If you are late on a payment. Get caught up as soon as possible.
Your score will go down according to what your credit score is at the time. The more time passes the more your score will increase from the late payment.
The second largest accounting of your credit score is your debt to credit ratio.
The article states that your score can be lowered if you use more than 50% of your available credit.
I believe that when you use more than 40% of your available credit that it hurts your credit score.
It looks like you are on your way to maxing out your credit score.
If you have ever had bad credit you may be wondering how you can improve your credit score.
It starts with one day at a time. Getting to the 800 and above score does not happen overnight.
You can start right where you are today working toward improving your credit score.
The habits of people with the 800 credit score can become contagious to you with practice.
Starting this month work on the following habits through the rest of the year:
Paying all your bills on time even if they are not on your credit report.
Stop using your credit cards. Use your debt card for purchases.
Start living by a budget. Be realistic about your budget so that you can live by it. Include ALL your expenses.
Start paying down your credit cards. Start with the card with the highest interest rate.
Limit the number of inquires to your credit to three or less for this year.
These are just a few things that you can start to implement that the 800 credit score holders do to reach and maintain their credit score.
Are you doing what it takes to get a 800 credit score???
