Recently I have encountered hearing an onslaught of Rumors.

They have been going on for a few weeks now.

They involve a couple of different situations.

I have to admit that I have looked forward to hearing what is the latest that has happened.

It dawned on my that after a complete stranger shared the rumor with me again.

They had all the facts wrong.  What can happen if you spread a rumor.

As the rumor mill has been going it can get very messy.

It got me to thinking about spreading rumors.

Often rumors are nasty things about people and the situations that they may or may not be in.

Most of the time people don't even care if what they are spreading is true or not.  Murdering someone with their words.

If you don't call and tell someone else the rumor will die.

You never hear anything good being spread.

Like the gospel of Jesus Christ being spread as wild fire.  If we passed that around like we do a text message with some mess in it.

 How much better this world would be if people spread that around???

Instead we here of people being indicted, cheating spouses, pastors being locked out of church, embezzlement of funds from a charity or church.

I believe there are three sides to every story.

Each persons side of the matter.

Then there is the truth about the matter.

We love spreading dirt.

When do you get tired of being dirty.

The same is true about your financial situation.

There are many rumors out there.

It's a rumor that after you file for a bankruptcy your credit will be good again.

The truth is you have to work at rebuilding it.

It's a rumor that after seven years negative accounts just delete from your credit report.

The truth is you have to get a copy of your credit report and you probably have to write a dispute letter to get them deleted. 

It's a rumor that when you file a chapter 13 your chapter payments help your credit situation.

The truth is the trustee pays your pays on his schedule.  So on your credit report you may still be showing late payments.

The next time you get ready to spread a rumor remember it could be you on the other side of that dirt.
