As I was driving home yesterday I rode by one of our area colleges.
There were many young men and women out partying celebrating St. Patrick's Day.
They had on their green t-shirts walking up and down the street.
Some of them were intoxicated. Things can happen when you are out late night impaired. I'm sure there was some under age drinking.
You could black out and not remember what or who you did that night.
There is also an area of the city where bars will up at 9:00 am until 2:30 am.
Many people will be off work to day so they can get drunk. All the drinking and partying can be dangerous.
It got me to thinking about how reckless we can be in life.
I've done my fair share of foolish things as a young adult.
My friends and I would go out partying and drink and drive.
I never got caught. However, I am blessed that I did not kill myself or anyone else in the process of my madness.
Not only did I party to much.
I had co-dependent relationships with my girlfriends and the men I chose to have relationships with.
This period of partying, shopping and living for today only I ruined my credit, my business, and almost lost my sanity.
The young adults that we have in our lives we need to talk to them (not preach) about the choices that they make can have a lasting effect on their lives.
You have to have a genuine relationship with them. In order for you to be able to have open dialogue with them. Believe me young people know when you are not being sincere.
My life is much different now.
The things that I once thought were fun I no longer look at them that way.
Being reckless can kill you.
Are you living reckless???
