Rapid Refunds

Budgeting, News, Renee Says

Tax season in the United States starts January 14,2011.

All of the ads start by telling you can get your money quick.  You can use your last paycheck stub  to get so much money.  Get your money in as little as a day.

For many low income and unsuspecting people go to places like H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, Instant Tax to get a quick refund.

This year many of these companies will not be able to offer the instant refunds on the spot or the next day Refund Anticipation Loan.

Many of the "Rapid Refunds" charge an interest rate up to 300% to fund your refund loan quickly.  There will be many unbeliveable offers to get you in the door.  If it sounds to good to be true it probably isn't true.  Make sure that you ask questions before you start the process of getting your taxes prepared.

Don't believe the hype!!!

You have to have your W2 in order to file your tax return.

Your income taxes can not be processed at the IRS with out your W2.  If you go to a place that tells you that you don't need them to file be weary.

The normal process to get your refund is 7-14 days from the IRS.

You can pay out of pocket to get your taxes prepared.

My suggestion is that you go with something that is less expensive.  You could use more of your money in your pocket.

During this time of the year you may be planning what to do with their income tax refund.  The tax refund can be used to catch up on bills, pay off Christmas, pay property taxes and so on.

Blowing a few hundred dollars to get it the next day is not worth it when you can save that money and wait in as little as 7 days to get more money in Your Pocket.

Make the best of your tax refund by not blowing your money to get your refund in one day.

Waiting 7-14 days will keep more money in your pocket and allow you to pay on a bill, start a retirement account, start a savings account, and many more.  This is a good time to put your tax refund to good use.

Look for a future post that let's you know what questions to ask before you turn your personal information over to someone to file your taxes.
