I started a Pepsi challenge to stop myself from drinking soda.
At some points I would drink 1-2 cans of Mt. Dew or Pepsi a day.
I like the cans better because they have more fizz.
I learned that from a neighbor who worked for Pepsi.
This would be my way to get through the day.
My drug of choice.
Like drinking a beer.
On October 24, 2010 I decided to stop drinking Pepsi.
Along the way I had some good days and bad days of wanting or not wanting a Pepsi.
I went until February 7, 2011 before I fell off the wagon and drank a Pepsi.
106 days is the longest that I have gone without drinking a Pepsi.
What I realized was that after I drank the Pepsi I no longer had the desire to drink another.
So I started my Pepsi challenge over with not drinking a Pepsi.
It got me to thinking about falling off the wagon of your budget, credit, debit and your overall financial situation.
Sometimes we fall off.
We may go shopping without a plan.
Once do you realize I can still shop. But I don't need to.
The desire to fill that need or want is gone.
We may have been late on a payment to get a mark on our credit.
The next month we need to make sure that we pay all our bills on time.
You may have started a budget.
You fell off because of Christmas.
It's time to start your budget over to get on track for the rest of the year.
Your financial picture may be like the one above.
Just start one day at a time to climb your mountain of debt or bad credit.
I don't know if I will drink another Pepsi.
What I do know is that everyday is a choice that I have whether to stick to it or fall off the wagon.
I have eighteen days under my belt in my new Pepsi challenge.
What is your challenge that you can start today???

Renee Lawson
