Budgeting, Just For Fun, News, Renee Says

The first holiday of the Summer of 2011 Memorial Day is about 10 days away.

It's time for the barbecue grill to be fired up.

It's time for baked beans, corn on the cob, greens, green beans, potato salad, pound cake, and lemonade.

The first holiday is the most anticipated.

If your house is the designated place for family and friends to meet.

You Need A Budget!!!

Hosting a gathering can become expensive for Memorial Day without a budget.

It's early enough to ask people to bring certain things to the event.

This includes food, beverages, tables and chairs.

Be sure to be specific about how much they should bring.

I've seen where people will bring a small dish just enough for them and not anyone else.

They need to bring enough for however many people that are invited to the gathering.

Make out a list before you go shopping for two reasons.

One is so that you don't forget anything.

Second is to stay on your Memorial Day budget.

Look in the Sunday paper or on line for bargains like cups, plates, and other items.

When that family member or friend comes that did not bring what they promised.

Don't let them in send them right to the store.

When everyone brings something it cuts down on the cost.

You also don't blow your home budget trying to entertain.

Remember that rent and mortgages will be due a few days after the holiday.

So don't spend money you don't have trying to impress your family and friends.

Going overboard for a holiday can leave you in a rut for months to come.

Enjoy your Memorial Day holiday!!!

Do you have your Memorial Day budget???
