Free FICO Credit Score
I was teaching a class this week about having a healthy financial lifestyle.
When I asked the class how many of them had looked at their
credit report in the last year and I was shocked that no hands
were raised.
Each year we should be looking at our credit reports.
I came across this article about being able to receive a free
FICO credit score I wanted to share the information.
Knowing what is on your credit report is very important.
"FICO scores are used by nearly every major lender to assess the creditworthiness of credit card and loan applicants."
There are other sources of where you can get your credit score; however, the best place to
see what lenders are looking at is through FICO.
Source CNN Money – Free FICO credit score coming to millions
"FICO (FICO) announced Monday that it plans to allow any lender using FICO scores to make the scores available to consumers for free through a program called FICO Score Open Access."
With the free FICO credit score coming for there is no reason that a consumer should
not know their credit score.
Instead of paying fees at different websites for your credit report and score this will make
things simplier to know exactly how the lenders view your creditworthiness.
Not all websites make reading and understanding your credit report clear and precise.
Hoepfully many lenders will sign up to participate with the free FICO credit score
program.
An educated consumer will be better for the market place.
The free FICO credit score program FICO Score Open Access should allow you to
understand why you have been denied credit or paying a higher interest rate.
With that information you can work on those areas to improve your credit score.
Will you use the free FICO credit score program???
