I was reading an article on MSN.com it had 40 ways to save money. They had some interesting tips on how to save.
One of those was: Cook your own meals: It's easy to order in or go out to eat. Trouble is, the restaurant habit is a real budget buster. articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Banking/BetterBanking/40-ways-to-save-on-almost-anything.aspx?page=1
I was sharing some of these ideas with a gentleman who was complaining about not having enough money because he was on a fixed income. Yet he was on his way out for dinner with his wife.
I suggested that he needed to rethink how he spent his money in order to get out of debt. He could start by cutting out expensive dinners and try cooking at home. He told me that his financial situation would not change so there was no need.
It got me to thinking about how many may feel this same way.
There are many areas in our life that we can trim the fat in order to make a difference in paying down debt.
When you cook at home you can make enough for leftovers which can serve as lunch the next day or maybe even dinner.
We must be realistic if we want to get out of debt.
Are you cooking your own meals??
My new book talks about using a realistic budget.
It is easier than you think to set a budget you can live by.
