Back To
It's back to school time for many students.
It got me to thinking about getting back to the financial basics.
Many of people including myself get back into bad habits when life hits you.
It's not necessarily something bad happens.
Being lazy is easy.
Continuing to work a plan takes just that work.
There are a few things that we can get back to:
Back to using credit wisely.
Back to paying cash instead of charging purchases.
Back to checking our credit score using www.AnnualCreditScore.com.
Each year you can receive a free copy of your credit report.
Back to becoming debt free.
Making the sacrifice to pay off debt is worth the interest that you save.
Back to paying bills on time.
Each month you save on late fees and interest when your bills are paid on time.
Back to paying more than the minimum payment.
Gets you closer to becoming debt free each month.
Back to not increasing your mountain of debt.
Leave your credit cards at home to keep from being tempted to make new charges.
Back to saving money.
Back to balancing the check book.
Back to using your budget.
Back to holding yourself accountable for your financial situation.
This a great time to look at your plan that you started at the beginning of the year.
Look at where you fell short.
Look at where you kept on track.
Then starting where you are to get back to your goals.
It's been a while since I got back to the financial basics for myself.
Knowing what to do and doing what you know are two different things.
So I'm getting back to my financial basics.
I hope that you decide to get back to your plan.
