Alone vs. Lonely

News, Relationships, Renee Says

For the past two weeks all you see in the stores and commercials are about Valentines Day.

Show your love by buying a gift, dinner or a hallmark card.

It got me to thinking about being single.

When you're my age people give you a look of pity because you are single.

Just because you are single does not mean you are lonely.

I believe that there is a big difference between the two.

When you are alone you can have a full life.

When you are lonely you try to compensate for being alone.

You may shop.

You may party.

You may sleep around.

Yet until you are able to come to terms with being alone nothing else matters.

It took me a while to realize that during that alone time you can work on you.

The mess in your life that you try to feel with meanless relationships.

Not all of these relationships are with the opposite sex.

Your girlfriends or your homeboys can be just as damaging as a bad relationship with the opposite sex.

However you are feeling about yourself you will draw those same kind of people into your life.

I have called these people degenerates in the past.

Then I came to realize that they are humans beings also.

They are not all bad people.  Just bad for me.

By the way Jill Scott has a song "Whenever Your Around"

She sings   Cause I'm lonely whenever your around.  Cause I'm lonely whenever your around.

I can attest that I have been in a relationship and still been lonely.

That is a bad place to be in.

I have come to the conclusion that God's Love is Enough for me.  Even if I never get married.  God's Love is enough for me.

So if you are alone this Valentine's Day.  It's OK to celebrate the relationship that you have with you.

You are never alone as long as you have you!

Are you alone or lonely???
